Islamabad Police Introduce New Rules on Uniforms for Officers and Launch a Safety App

Islamabad police have recently put in place new regulations that prohibit off-duty officers from wearing their uniforms, only allowing them to do so while on duty. This directive was communicated through wireless channels to all officers, stressing the importance of adhering to this new rule for security reasons, ensuring that uniforms are worn only at the point of duty.

The decision to introduce these uniform guidelines comes as a response to the current security situation in the city, with the Islamabad Police taking proactive steps to safeguard both their personnel and the general public. In addition to wearing uniforms only on duty, officers are now required to operate in pairs during their duty hours and carry their weapons at all times as part of these new measures.

Moving on from uniform rules, the Islamabad Police have also launched a new mobile application, the ICT-15 App, as a means to further boost public safety and encourage community participation in crime prevention efforts. This app, introduced under the direction of former Minister of Interior Sarfraz Akbar Bugti, aims to empower residents by enabling them to report various concerns, from illegal activities and incidents to complaints regarding law enforcement or suspicious criminal behavior. Residents of Islamabad can easily access and utilize this app, which is available for download on the Google Play Store, enabling them to submit information that will be promptly addressed by law enforcement agencies striving for swift response times.
