BJP Leader Files Complaint with CBI Over Alleged Morphed Video

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader in West Bengal has filed a complaint with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) alleging that a video circulating online has been morphed and edited to falsely implicate him in the Sandeshkhali incident.

Gangadhar Kayl, the BJP Mandal (booth) president, claims that his face and voice were manipulated using artificial intelligence (AI) in the video. He alleges that the video is part of a conspiracy by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) to deflect blame from the actual culprits in the Sandeshkhali incident.

In his complaint, Kayl points out several inconsistencies in the video, including the lack of synchronization between the audio and video, the obscured face of the speaker, and the use of subtitles. He urges the CBI to investigate the video and take action against those responsible for its creation.

The controversy stems from a sting operation video that surfaced on a local television channel. The video allegedly shows Kayl claiming that the Sandeshkhali women were not sexually assaulted and were instead projected as "rape" victims at the behest of the Leader of the Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari.

Kayl denies these allegations and claims that he was coerced into making the statements by Adhikari, who promised to help him get away with the crime if he falsely implicated himself in a rape case.

The CBI is currently investigating the Sandeshkhali incident, and Kayl's complaint adds another layer of complexity to the case. The authenticity of the video and the claims made by Kayl will likely be a key focus of the investigation.
